As soon as we heard the news of a FENTY Parfum entering our lives, we knew we had to get our hands on it! It’s well known that when it comes to smelling amazing, Rhianna has mastered it! We had the chance to sample the highly anticipated perfume and since it officially is released today, we thought we’d give our thoughts on it in case you were thinking of blind buying (remember its only officially being sold on fentybeauty.com). The perfume is marketed to be unisex so that both men and women can enjoy the scent. If you’re interested in learning more about the scent and our thoughts, keep reading!
The Notes
As a result of this fragrance being sold exclusively online, the consumer has no way of being able to personally smell it before making a purchase, so it’s important to know the notes so you have an idea of what to expect. Fenty states that the notes are a mix of fruity, floral, and spicy. To be more specific you’ll get a bit of magnolia, geranium, Bulgarian rose absolute, a bit of earthy musk and patchouli. One can also catch hints of tangerine and blueberry which pay homage to her island roots of Barbados. As always, keep in mind that fragrances can pull differently according to your body chemistry, so it may smell differently on you than it would on the next individual.
Top Notes: Tangerine and Blueberry
Middle Notes: Magnolia, Bulgarian Rose Absolute, and Geranium
Base Notes: Musk and Patchouli
BOTTLE DESIGN
Right away, the color of the bottle caught our eye. The amber shade is absolutely regal and gives very sensual vibes. The bottle top, which bears the Fenty logo is engraved and just adds to the luxuriousness of the bottle. This is definitely something you’ll want to have displayed on your vanity!
Pricing
The cost of this perfume is average cost of other high end fragrances that you would find in Sephora, Macy’s or wherever you would purchase them. On Fenty Beauty’s website, it is retailed at $120 USD but coming out to $130 (tax included). Keep in mind this is considered a high end fragrance, so the cost will reflect that.
Our Final Thoughts
So the big question is will we be taking the leap and purchasing the full size bottle? This is a tough one. Although we love it so far (we’ve tested its wear time, etc. for about 3 days now) we are still considering it. Personally, it gives us a sensual musk type of vibe which is great for evening wear (think date nights, nights out, or relaxing at home after a hot shower with a glass of wine). Remember, this scent is unisex, which is great as it allows anyone to wear it and feel good in it. It would also be a great gift for a significant other! We’ve also been listening to the reviews of others and its getting mixed reviews. One thing we’re sure of is that we can not stop smelling ourselves! In our opinion it is an amazing scent! Who knows!
